Haven’t been to BPJ for a while, noted that there is a new yakun (not sure for how long). It’s a bit squeezy, hard to move about due to the too close arrangement of the tables and chairs. Teh as usual is hit or miss (today a little miss). Otherwise, a normal yakun to get your normal breakfast fix. Female Cashier was friendly and helpful though. Not a good place to have a chat as the sound is trapped in the shop and you can hardly hear if you talk normally.

Second time here. Ordered kopi o kosong gao this time but it’s still tasteless.. No coffee aroma and taste at all.. My soy milk coffee only taste of soy milk..
The eggs and bread are good but the kaya given is too little as compared to last time..

I recommend only coming to this outlet 2 weeks later when the store and employees set a level of standard or you’ll be disappointed.
1. Queue Management
Store was extremely crammed. Their shift supervisor made it even more confusing and inefficient.
2. Food Quality
Firstly, the half boiled egg wasn’t even the usual standard from my experience in other outlets. It could be the worse among all the outlets I tried so far. Secondly, the toast was barely even a toast. But rather just their attempt of making the outside look charred. The overall toast was just a normal soft bread.
3. Store Layout
Literal meaning of packed like sardines. I understand the company’s attempt to maximise profits to make use of the space. But the seats and tables are just pathetically too close to one another. Employees should try walking through during peak hours and experience it for themselves.
In conclusion, drinks were great and loved the two staff doing the drinks. But the store could prioritise more on food quality to justify for the 20 minutes wait for the bread and eggs. Customers don’t have an issue waiting. But to be disappointed with such mediocre food, I would rather visit the usual Hillion outlet. Employees at Hillion are effective and efficient.

Context: I am a frequenter of the Hillion Mall outlet, and this review is in comparison with all the Yakun that I have tried in Singapore.
The toast is barely a toast. The eggs are overly cooked.
Drinks are ok.
This outlet needs to desperately improve their food.

I really wanna praise the auntie working in BPP Yakun during mid afternoon.
I was here with my friend and her kids. One of my friend youngest kid, 2 Year old, accidentally took a book and hit my coffee. So yea the coffee spills the table and cloth.
The auntie immediately came over with tray, cloth and mop and helped us clean. Even gave me a new cup of coffee, which surprised us. Cos she didn’t have to. She was not even angry but instead very nice and understanding and joke with us the baby has a fast hand.
So I really is very grateful to this auntie cos if you go some other coffee place, and same thing happened, I believe I won’t get the same nice treatment. The staff would probably get angry that they have to clean up the mess. But this auntie is really super niceeeee!!

The usual Ya Kun experience — dependable kaya toast that’s consistently good.
This outlet also feels a bit cramped, so seating can be uncomfortable during busy times.
Unlike some other Ya Kun branches where soft-boiled eggs come together with the beverage, here they serve the eggs directly with the toast set, which is my preference.
Worth noting: the entrance is located outside the mall, so you’ll need to exit to find it.
Overall, still a satisfying stop if you’re craving the classic Ya Kun toast.

Ever since this new outlet was opened, my wife and I have frequently visited this Ya Kun Kaya Toast. The service staff is friendly and polite. Added to this ambience is the taste of coffee and beautifully decorated outlet - like it very much. Today 23 June 2024, we visited this outlet again for coffee and to my surprise there was a new recruit that is so skillful in preparing coffee. Just look at the height of the coffee he pours into my cup. I have never seen someone in my life so far with such ability and he did not spill any onto the floor! Christmas is around the corner and a chocolate cake is now on offer..

Second or third visit, I can't remember.
Anyhoo.
Cashier auntie greeted every customer good morning with a big smile and cheerful tone! I love establishments like that. So humble and so warm. As in the feeling la.
Ordered set E, and she checked in with me whether I wanted the kaya or not. I said yes and asked for a little bit more. Upon receiving my order, staff even checked with me whether it's enough. YES IT IS thank u very much<3
It is also a conducive place to continue sipping my Kopi while reading on my Kindle. Not too noisy at 9.30AM, sun shines in a little but I'm fine with that now (I moved to sit in the middle of the shop).
I'll probably Yakun until I'm 80 or when I can't walk or take orally anymore🥲

Visited on Friday, 13 June 2025. Place was relatively empty when arrived just before evening time. Ordering was quick and fuss free. Collected drink a short while after. Overall a normal experience.
OK Oh
Can’t agree more with other reviewers that the service here is front runner of the Yakun outlets in Singapore.
The staff are attentive and polite. It’s pleasant to walk into this shop and I can’t explain why.
The place is clean too, within minutes the staff will set it ready for the next customer.

Visited the outlet twice since the opening and we love the ambience (a modernise concept of traditonal Yakun) Food standard is consistent & excellent service! Definitely going to be our usual coffee hang-out.
