Fong Sheng Hao at Bukit Panjang Plaza brings authentic Taiwanese breakfast culture to Singapore, representing the award-winning chain that originated in a small alley near Shilin MRT station in Taipei over a decade ago. Recognized as one of Taipei's top breakfast destinations, this cozy restaurant at unit #01-53/54 serves as the 7th Singapore outlet, offering locals and food enthusiasts a genuine taste of Taiwan's beloved morning dining traditions. The restaurant has successfully recreated the authentic flavors and atmosphere that made it famous in Taiwan's bustling breakfast scene.
The menu showcases Taiwan's signature charcoal-grilled thick toast and milk tea alongside traditional breakfast specialties including various flavored sandwiches, Taiwanese-style omelettes, rice and noodle dishes prepared with authentic techniques and ingredients. Popular Taiwanese sides such as scallion pancakes, popcorn chicken, and sweet potato fries complement the main offerings, while the beverage selection features traditional Taiwanese tea and flavored milk tea that perfectly pairs with the hearty breakfast items. The restaurant's signature charcoal-grilled toast delivers the distinctive smoky flavor that has made Fong Sheng Hao a household name in Taiwan.
Open daily with special weekday breakfast sets available from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM Monday through Friday excluding public holidays, Fong Sheng Hao offers both dine-in and delivery options through FoodPanda and their own online ordering system. The intimate dining space provides a cozy atmosphere that customers describe as superior to similar breakfast chains, delivering an authentic Taiwanese breakfast experience that transports diners to the bustling morning eateries of Taipei. This accessibility and authenticity have quickly established Fong Sheng Hao as a favorite breakfast destination in Bukit Panjang.
For starters, my 2* rating has to do with the food. The service and the ambience at this Fong Sheng Hao at Bukit Panjang Plaza were friendly and nice, respectively. However, I don't think my wife and I will be back for its food that I find totally underwhelming and asking what's the big deal and why for what had served, costs so much. My wife had a Milky Toast Set and I had a Ham Egg Omelette Set. And I also ordered a pair of Cuttle Fish Balls. For its price, my wife found her choice, nothing great whatsoever. For me, my so-called Ham was almost invisible - it was tracing paper thin! And altogether it was bland. As for the Cuttle Fish Balls, it was over fried and very pricey. All in all, it was a culinary disaster.

The popcorn chicken rice was very nice, but the signature milk tea somehow has some coffee taste, not sure if its meant to be or its an accidental mix. Drinks price is more on the costly side, and few options. Happens to be located just a few shops away from ximenjie which has more varied and affordable drink options.

Overpriced in my opinion. I’m not getting value for money.
Ordered a seaweed and egg soup and was dismayed to see it was served in a sauce bowl. Not even a rice bowl! And definitely not a whole egg in the soup.
Milk tea and hot chocolate are nice.

Had the honey grilled chicken sandwich. Chicken is juicy and the bread is toasted well.
Staff is friendly as well.

Consistent quality and serving of food.. keep it up! Coffee is great too.
Would like to thank the staff for agreeing to make a new cup of coffee because I must have keyed wrongly at the kiosk.

Braised pork rice was made of pork belly bits, which made the dish rich and flavourful. Braised soy egg was the highlight for me! Pork chop went nicely with the dried chilli sauce. Topped up $2.2 for a hot drink plus sugared toast.
There seems to be a good variety of toasts available, will return to try other things on the menu

Overall, the dining experience was quite pleasant. The food was fairly average—not particularly impressive, but acceptable. The real highlight was the excellent service! The staff were warm, attentive, and very courteous. They made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal, from taking our order to checking in on us regularly. While there’s definitely room for improvement with the food, the outstanding service really made up for it. I’d consider coming back to try other dishes.

Pork egg omelette: not crispy but tastes really good
Braised pork rice: value for money and tastes almost authentic
Zi char style fish and chicken rice were not bad. Almost like normal zi char.
Will definitely return!

Clean environment with classical music playing. Food was not bad as well, but it was on the pricier side.

The food is very delicious, and the coffee is well done. I went there with my wife on the opening of this outlet on 30th May 2024 for some light snack around 4pm. We not only enjoyed the tasty food and aromatic coffee but also the high standards of their customer service and helpful chefs. So, we decided to come back later for dinner. Truly we were not disappointed. On the 11 March 2025, I went there with my wife again & this time around requested for the gravy in a small bowl, and they obliged - what a superb & excellent customer service from them!

2nd time to this outlet. We like the breakfast - signature spicy and also club sandwich. It’s generous portion and I love the charcoal toasted bread. Ordered Teh C kosong and Kopi C kosong - the drinks can be improved - this will win more business.

5 stars for amazing service and ambience, although food quality could be a bit better, but it’s definitely worth a visit!

First time trying, unsure what to get, staff was very nice to recommend what is good. The taiwan special pork patty is really good! Great recommendation:-)

Reasonable portions and well braised pork paired with japanese rice.
wintermelon tea was on the expensive side at $4.70 when ordered with braised pork rice. Unless it's home-brewed, I'd recommend going for other beverages. Be careful when eating the taiwanese pork chop, as batter may conceal the bones.
