visited this outlet earlier. the supervisor (chinese lady) had a very bad attitude，totally no customer service and gave a mocking and disgusted face when i asked for the banana cake in the fridge instead of the one she took from outside. i asked her if the cake was baked today and she unfriendly said "yes". super turned-off by her attitude, i changed my mind and decided not to buy the cake.

Service standard is low. Buying a birthday cake, the staff was impatient, rush through without much explanation and chase you whether are you done with choosing. Give courtesy to older senior customers, explaining to them patiently and letting them pay first, allowing them to cut queue. I’m working population so deserve curt service? Puzzling and condescending attitude.
Sub par standard and high pricing. Paying a premium the service got to match.

I took away a couple of "simple" old-school cake slices today from this outlet - a Marble Cake Slice and a Chocolate Cake Slice. Both were very good and reasonably priced. And the service here was very friendly.

Staff needs better customer conversation training. Asked if I could get a whole cake cut but the only response was no cannot. Wouldn’t it be only sensible to explain why?
Even if it’s a “the cake might melt faster’ reason. But no, they just say no. The end. “Busy” was definitely not the reason as I was the only walk-in customer.
They’re more interested in chit-chatting.

Bought a Pandan Swiss Roll and request to cut into pieces. The staff handing over did not assist and the cashier overheard and help in the cutting. The Swiss roll I bought next door cake shop only $5 per box and was cut nicely. This shop cost 2.5 times more and staff didn’t even bother to help to cut when request. Finally, thought was worth the value for the Swiss roll but was disappointed for the value paid.

The staff was very arrogant. I was buying a piece of pandan Swiss cheese roll and was asked to wait. Then they changed their mind and said they don’t sell just one piece unless I buy more. Speechless. What kind of customer service is that? I’ve been buying from Bengawan Solo for decades, and every transaction was more than six pieces. So stuck up. I won’t be buying from them anymore.
btw, happened that I bought some items from them yesterday, the pandan chiffon was $1.9 per slice, it's was so small and overpriced. it's time to for a regular customer stop buying from these profiteer.

The pineapple tarts are different from previously which we enjoyed so much. The one we bought this year was very disappointed as the outer pastry seem to break easily and the pineapple inside not as good as previous one.
