This was my second visit, but I received terrible service from ē§ē². I would not recommend making a purchase here if you are reading my review. The staff seemed only concerned with big deals, and rushed off to the next customer without giving me my item even after I had paid in full.

Worst gold sellers in the market. They sell gold not at the current market rate, but at a 20% markup, and charge exorbitantly for making even the simplest designs. Please avoid going here at all costs. They are stealing money!

I went to the shop and saw a pair of earrings. The staff told me it was Akoya pearl. I clarified with the staff, and they confirmed it was Akoya pearl. Then, months later, I went to a shop selling pearls and was told the pearl earrings I bought at Boon Lay Gems were actually freshwater pearls. I compared Akoya pearls, freshwater pearls, and the pearls they sold to me.
So I called the shop asking for explanations. They mentioned 'Akoya pearl' was on the receipt, and insisted they sold me Akoya pearls.
Well, I have given them an opportunity to explain themselves. They asked me to bring my receipt and earrings. Why do they insist that what they sold is Akoya pearl instead of freshwater pearls? Akoya pearls have a pinkish reflection, and freshwater pearls don't.
GET AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will NEVER step foot in this shop.

Profiteering shop selling gold at 17% higher than other gold merchants! Don't patronize this shop if you value your hard-earned money. āšš”
On January 10, 2024, they were selling 24K gold at $110 per gram. In contrast, a gold dealer at Millennia Walk was selling a limited edition lunar dragon gold bar at about $91.3 per gram.
For example, for one troy ounce of gold, the difference is +$554.15!
Don't be cheated by their high prices! Avoid!! ā

Bad experience with staff. They carry a wide variety of items, but prices are higher compared to many shops I've visited. Be prepared to pay a premium price here.

My daughter and I went to the Bukit Panjang Branch, and the service was superb. Five stars to a sales person named Ah Chuen. His supervisor/manager, a lady, was also very helpful and friendly to my daughter and me. Highly recommended for this branch. Regarding past reviews that suggested the gold or prices quoted were not genuine or high, I was very surprised; yesterday, there were many customers at the outlet purchasing gold. Their designs were very nice, and both of us got what we wanted. We will go again in a few months.

I was there on November 12th in the afternoon and received extremely distasteful service. The SA who was serving us was a man in white, wearing a black watch. We were looking at gold bangles for bridal purposes and showed the SA two specific designs from SK. It would have been fine if they didn't have the designs and recommended something else, but he felt the need to make sarcastic comments: "Oh, are these designs from a pawnshop or Maxicash? These designs are outdated already," in a belittling way. Mind you, these are trendy designs from SK, which the company is not capable of producing. In fact, the bangles he showed us were dowdy and from the 1990s era.
Please see the first five attached photos of their unfashionable designs and the last two photos of the ones from SK; you can be the judge as to which company is the outdated one.
The gold price is not exactly cheap either, the designs are distasteful, and with such off-putting service, please do not patronise them.
We ended up taking our business to Boon Lay Goldsmith, at Boon Lay itself. They have trendy designs and very nice SAs. Everyone is friendly and gives the right recommendations. The gold price per gram is good as well. Do not waste your time at Boon Lay Gems.

Here's the edited review:
"This is the worst gold shopping experience I've ever had. I was left feeling horrible! This sales assistant insisted on using NETS when I mentioned that my Capitastar-linked card should be processed as Mastercard. He didn't listen, went ahead against my warning, and cost me my Capitastar points. The sales assistants beside him also tried to remind him. Mind you, I spent $4k at this place. No apologies whatsoever. This irks me the most. I told them to give me something worth the points I lost, and he gave me a pot. Honestly, it was better than nothing, but the service was so bad that I will never ever step into the store again."

Boon Lay Gems at Bukit Panjang Plaza is a true gem! From the moment I stepped into the store, I felt welcomed and well-cared for. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Mdm Mui Yen, whose service was truly exceptional. She was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout my visit.
I was looking to purchase a special gift for myself, a gold bracelet and earrings to commemorate my company gift. Mdm Mui Yen patiently showed me their beautiful selection of gold jewelry. What impressed me most was her willingness to go the extra mile ā she even reserved the items I liked for me, allowing me time to finalize my purchase. When I returned, the purchase process was smooth and pleasant.
Beyond the outstanding service, Boon Lay Gems boasts a wide variety of jewelry. It's clear they cater to different tastes and preferences. If you're looking for quality jewelry and a personalized shopping experience, I highly recommend visiting Boon Lay Gems at Bukit Panjang Plaza and seeking out Mdm Mui Yen ā you won't be disappointed!
