Ordered the creamy butter pork, but it was quite different from the picture on the menu. The dish had more fat than meat, and the meat itself had a dark color, which didn’t seem fresh. On the positive side, the soup I ordered was good. I hope the restaurant can improve the quality of their ingredients to match expectations.

It was a quiet, rainy week night, so we decided to drop by Lao Huo Tang (老火汤)for dinner.
The herbal chicken soup and salted vegetable duck soup were good, and they obviously have been boiled for a long time. The soups were thick and flavourful. Even though it was expensive, they do allow a one time soup refill.
The fried hor fun was delicious, although I wish they had de-shelled the prawns.
It's a nice place to visit for some comforting food, especially if you like soups.

Revisit on 12 Mar 2025, meat had weird smell and taste.
Soup was ok ,may opt for meatless when ordering lotus soup ever again.

The taste of the dishes are all quite decent, some can be pretty good (ie. tomato fried egg, ABC soup and general tsao chicken), but sometimes the dishes served are not hot, even the soup sometimes are served lukewarm at best. Portion sizes are also not very impressive considering the price. Overall it's ok.

No nasty or pleasant surprises. Soup was a bit salty. S & S sliced fish was quite ok. Ribs looked and tasted like they were used to boil soup first before turning to become our dish. Bee hoon a bit gooey which meant they were of inferior quality. Portions were small to compensate for the price charged. Keep your expectation low & you’ll be alright.

I tried this for the first time and was really pleased with the meal. Came here for dinner and ordered Pork Tripe Soup with Gingko, Fried French Bean with Minced Meat, and Crispy Cereal Prawn Ball (not oily at all). Every dish was flavourful and delicious. The staff was attentive and asked if we wanted a refill for the soup when they saw our soup was finishing. I'll definitely come here again!
