Ordered the creamy butter pork, but it was quite different from the picture on the menu. The dish had more fat than meat, and the meat itself was dark, which didn’t seem fresh. On the positive side, the soup I ordered was good. I hope the restaurant can improve the quality of their ingredients to match expectations.

The waiter had a good attitude, and the food was delicious. I will come again next time.

Only the pumpkin rice, lotus soup, and three-egg spinach were good. The deep-fried fish was served lukewarm, obviously pre-fried and doused with mediocre bean sauce. Luckily, the meat tasted fresh.
The service staff member (the auntie with curly hair) had a bossy attitude and rude tone. She waved her hand in my face when I politely informed her that she had missed one item on my order sheet. The other young girl had a much better service standard.

Visited for Sunday dinner. The vegetables are good. The portions for the other two dishes were small. I wanted to order the soup, but I was too full. I will come for the soup on my next visit.

At lunchtime, I visited Laohuotang with my family. The environment was quiet, with few people. Waiters Lihui and Allen had a good service attitude. Their recommended dishes were also good, especially the salted egg cod fish and Bak Kwa fried rice. Thank you for their service. We will visit Laohuotang again next time.

Zero walk-ins since I entered, and with only two items needing to be cooked, I still had a very long wait. A female staff member was standing inside using her phone; I don't know what the rest were doing. We, as delivery drivers, represent your online customers as well. I also took a photo for the customer, showing I was still waiting, not knowing what for. No staff wanted to pack the food, even when it was ready.

Ordered via Foodpanda, the food portion really threw us off. We have to caveat that we weren't expecting bang for our buck or a mountain of food. But exercise your judgement if you find the food portion given is fair. For us, it is RIDICULOUSLY SMALL given the high price tag. Everything came in atrociously tiny portions, fit for one. The takeaway container for the stir-fried French beans was only 1/6 filled when it arrived, all for $14.80. We thought it was a joke until we realised it was only 3 tablespoonfuls' worth, and the portion was so pathetic the number of French beans was almost countable. Also, we were given 8 PUNY pieces of pepper prawns, which cost us $23.80. I normally wouldn't mind if the prawns were any bigger, like Dian Xiao Er's, but it was DAYLIGHT ROBBERY for $3 per piece of prawn that was smaller than my pinky. Even the soup felt watered down, and the container used was smaller. Shrinkflation is very real, and I can empathise with F&B businesses and their cost pressures, but this was OUTRIGHT UNETHICAL. We felt cheated having spent $60 on a supposedly celebratory dinner only to receive food that couldn't even fill three adults (two dishes, one soup). I definitely will not support Lao Huo Tang in the future and recommend that you do not either, if you're reading this review.

Second visit, and I'd say that 75% of the food choices are not bad. I was pretty impressed on my first visit that they've gone beyond soup over the years.
I certainly feel they deserve more crowds nonetheless.

This restaurant isn't usually too busy, but it gets busier during lunch and dinner time. Soup is their signature, comes with one refill, and is reasonably priced; the taste was okay. I strongly recommend their pumpkin rice.

Came here a few times. All the food is delicious. Salted egg prawns are fresh and fragrant. Vinegar pork trotter is good—very savoury, sour, and gingery.
